Wednesday, November 29, 2023

The drive to enhance the energy efficiency of buildings is mainly guided by energy codes and green standards. In this course, we explore the most recent updates in the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and ASHRAE standards.
During the course, participants will gain insights into the selection of vertical fenestration systems that align with these new standards and contribute to overall energy conservation in buildings. We will also delve into a comprehensive review of fenestration system performance, covering both the frame and glazing aspects. Additionally, participants will discuss compliance methods for the commercial sector, such as AAMA 507 and the NFRC Component Modeling Approach (CMA).
Learning objectives
- Understand the Energy Code requirements for vertical fenestration systems
- Learn how to select the proper fenestration system to meet the solar and thermal performance requirements of a project
- Maximize day-lighting through the use of shading devices with proper fenestration design choices
- Understand compliance methods with AAMA 507 and NFRC’s Component Modeling Approach (CMA)
