This course will provide a high-level look at a variety of factors that go into protecting what’s inside our educational facilities, the codes that propel them and the range of solutions designed to address them.

Designing for educational buildings is evolving. Architects must take into account various factors such as occupant security, safety, and comfort in addition to sustainability and accessibility.

Learning objectives

Attendees will:

  1. Identify and understand the methods to properly manage and enhance occupant comfort and wellness.
  2. Learn the meaning of accessibility within the Education vertical and how to design with accessibility in mind.
  3. Gain greater knowledge of how to address occupant safety and security.
  4. Garner a deeper understanding of sustainability and thermal performance for efficiency as it relates to building in the Education sector.
