This program discusses the foundations of the glass selection process and explores the aesthetic options available to meet project design and performance requirements. Included is a special focus on understanding the variety of performance coatings and customized glass fabrication options.

Learning objectives

Attendees will be able to:

  1. View glass samples in order to determine the most accurate impression of appearance.
  2. Identify the key criteria in selecting glass types and will know how that selection will influence the trade-offs between performance and aesthetic/design criteria.
  3. Determine the difference between different fabrication techniques such as lamination, silkscreen, and spandrel applications.
  4. Identify the differences between a variety of glass types and sputter-coated Low-E products with regards to appearance and performance
