Exterior Cladding Innovation: Rainscreen Design with Ultracompact Surfacing
RSVP

This course explores a cutting-edge technology, called Ultracompact Surfacing. Participants will gain insight into how this surfacing material possesses similar characteristics to natural stone while providing unmatched durability and design flexibility. It also explores its optimal use as cladding in a rainscreen application, as well as other options for material use.

Learning objectives

  1. Define Ultracompact Surfacing and discuss the innovative production process that creates stone-like properties which contribute to project longevity and lower maintenance
  2. Discuss designing with Ultracompact Surfaces in terms of color, texture, format, general design flexibility and various applications for both interior and exterior
  3. Identify the traits and advantages of Ultracompact Surfaces in terms of strength, durability, UV resistance, absorption rates, abrasion resistance, and ASTM testing
  4. Discuss proper rainscreen design and installation using Ultracompact Surfacing material
