This presentation explains the best practices for single-ply roofing installation. It provides an overview of areas of design including industry concerns, metal edging, air infiltration, membranes, insulation and more.

Learning objectives

  1. Understand shading-automation objectives to optimize performance for various types of shading applications and site locations.
  2. Be able to discuss shading automation objectives so all building users – including those who require ADA accommodation – will be safe and comfortable.
  3. Identify elements of automated shading systems, and discuss tradeoffs among three main system designs for a range of structure types.
  4. Create a basic automation specification that meets a number of the identified objectives.
