COTE: Sustainable Design for Decentralized Water Reclamation and Reuse
Friday, April 9, 2021

This presentation focuses on eco-engineered wastewater reclamation and reuse system. The system combines natural treatment techniques with the latest membrane filtration and disinfection technologies. Through the use of hydroponics in the treatment process, it provides a more resilient biological process design with a reduced energy profile, compact physical footprint, and reduced biosolid production.
Learning objectives
Participants will:
- Assess risk to water-related challenges and the community impact of implementing a strategic water conservation plan through the use of water reclamation and reuse.
- Explore campus benefits of implementing sustainable water management initiatives and environmental stewardship to meet sustainability goals/corporate KPI’s.
- Evaluate the use of existing space (land availability) as a potential for innovative new forms of performance landscaping toward asset development.
- Investigate the applicability of third- party project financing that allows for development without increased financial responsibility from the community.
