Born in Holland, Michigan, Sonia Miller is a project and program manager within the Facilities Project Management Branch of the Engineering Directorate at NASA’s John F. Kennedy Space Center. She grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, graduating with a Bachelor of Environmental Design in architecture and a Master of Science in civil engineering from North Carolina State University. Sonia began her career with NASA in 2006 as a cooperative education student in the Facilities Engineering Division. In 2015, she detailed to the Launch Services Program, working with the mission managers to perform an organizational risk assessment.

While participating in NASA’s Mid-Level Leader Program during 2016 and 2017, she accepted a detail with NASA Headquarters to develop improvements to the Congressional Justification and support the Business Services Assessment’s goals of creating a more efficient operating model for the agency. Sonia lives with her husband and two children in Cocoa, Florida, and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, playing soccer and seeking out new microbrews.
