Project Planning & Design (PPD) focuses on the preliminary design of sites and buildings. Participants should be able to demonstrate an understanding of and abilities in design concepts, sustainability/environmental design, universal design, and other forms of governing codes and regulations. Kristen E. Locke AIA , NCARB, NOMA, ASLA
Kristen is a sole practitioner based in North Carolina. She graduated with her Bachelor of Architecture from Tuskegee University and earned dual master’s degrees in architecture and information technology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Kristen is deeply engaged at AIA Charlotte and is currently serving on the board as associate director. She is passionate about the importance of support and encouragement for ARE candidates and hopes to make studying for ARE a little simpler.
